Majestic Romanic Masseria between Lecce and Porto Cesareo

History, Majesty in an authentic Salento context: Masseria “Legio”.

Masseria “Legio” is a construction born, in its primitive nucleus, in the Romanic age, then gradually enlarged, especially in the 1700s, up to the actual huge building of 1200 square meters, spreading over 3 levels. Located in Copertino, in a typical Salento context, just a few minutes from Lecce, Galatina and the renowned beaches. The whole area of ​​about 25,000 square meters is almost completely fenced by high dry stone walls in perfect condition, with two large iron gates; only a small end is bordered by a dense fence of plants.

In the basement, carved by hand, there are three rooms: a huge one with star vaults about 5 meters high and windows that allow natural lighting and air exchange.
